10th October 2024Last summer, on completion of the famously difficult Ironman Wales event, Caroline, our Director, qualified for the 2024 Ironman World Championships in Nice, France! Since qualifying, Caroline has been focussing hard on developing her abilities in all three disciplines involved.
Training for and completing an Ironman race takes resilience, hard work, dedication and a huge amount of time! The Ironman World Championships involved a 2.4 mile swim in the Mediterranean, followed by a 112 mile bike ride in the mountains, finishing off with a coastal marathon… This event is all about committing to a journey and all the challenges along the way in order to finally cross that line. It’s about accomplishing something very special! It’s a life experience; finding resilience you never thought you had and being left with a tremendous sense of achievement. In life, when you make a big commitment and put a huge amount of dedication into it you often get back far more than you imagine. The journey becomes more important than the outcome. Whether you’re running a race or chasing a dream, the real victory lies in completing the journey and being disciplined and determined to keep going, even when it’s really hard and you just want to stop!
And a final word from Caroline: “To all those people out there wondering if they can… you’ve got this!”
